たくましく生きるはぐれっ子の”激甘猛毒ボサノバ”「SUGAR同盟」、終わらない旅への祈りを歌う”憂鬱レガート”「第3ユートピアより Private ver.」、解けない糸で結ばれた二人が優雅に沈む”呪怨ワルツ”「湖畔にて」など、ぷにぷに電機が得意とする”ディストピア系ゆるふわジャズ＆ポップス”の3曲を収録。すべての作詞、作曲、編曲をぷにぷに電機が手がけ、ゲストピアニストとしてヤマザキタケルも参加。イラストレーター・漫画家のもけおがジャケットを描きおろしている。
With this contradictory aphorism, Tokyo-based artist Punipunidenki returns with SUGAR ALLIANCE, a surreal and subversive 3-track EP exploring the sweetness and sorrow of contemporary intimacy. The EP releases on May 7, 2025, across all major streaming platforms and as a limited-edition CD.
At the heart of SUGAR ALLIANCE lies a deep tension between fragility and toxicity. The title track is a hyper-sweet, venom-laced bossa nova ode to outcasts and emotional volatility. From the 3rd Utopia (Private ver.) floats through melancholy and memory, while At the Lakeside is a haunting waltz for two lovers gracefully drowning in symbolic despair.
Sonically, the EP blends soft-edged jazz, dystopian electronics, and vaporous pop with glitchy edges—echoing Tokyo’s neon quietude and post-pandemic introspection. All music, lyrics, and arrangements are by Punipunidenki, with pianist Takeru Yamazaki featured on the final track. The cover illustration is by cult Japanese manga artist Mokeo.
