ファーストアルバム『創業』で幕を開けた〈耐複雑性〉ミュージックカンパニー・ぷにぷに電機の新たなフェーズは『株』。生命を育む根「株」と、価値を分かち合う「株」券、そして多様に枝分かれしていく微生物の「株」を重ね合わせたタイトルとなっている。
収録曲には、Kan Sano、Shin Sakiura、Mikeneko Homeless、Yohji Igarashi、Taishi Sato、西野恵未、ESME MORI、和久井沙良、valkneeら国内勢に加え、Paul Grant（カリフォルニア）、Pikes（ストックホルム）、ming（トロント）といった海外アーティストも参加。ポップ、チル、ジャズ、クラブサウンドが交錯しながら、音楽は株の芽吹きのように広がり、複雑性を抱えた豊かな森を形づくる。CDアルバムとしてリリースされる本作は、個と個が根を結び、共に育つぷにぷに電機の姿が刻まれた一枚となっている。
アートワークは我喜屋位瑳務、デザインは柴田ユースケ（soda design）が手がけた紙ジャケット仕様。
“Kabu” takes root and grows into a forest of complexity — Punipunidenki releases their second album!
Following their first album Sōgyō (Foundation), which marked the beginning of their concept as a “complexity-resilient” music company, Kabu represents the next phase of Punipunidenki’s creative journey. The title carries multiple meanings—referring to kabu as a “root” that nurtures life, a “share” that connects value, and a “strain” that branches and multiplies like microorganisms.
The album features collaborations with Kan Sano, Shin Sakiura, Mikeneko Homeless, Yohji Igarashi, Taishi Sato, Emi Nishino, ESME MORI, Sara Wakui, and valknee from Japan, as well as Paul Grant (California), Pikes (Stockholm), and ming (Toronto). Blending pop, chill, jazz, and club sounds, the music spreads like budding roots to form a lush forest rich in complexity. Released as a CD album, Kabu captures Punipunidenki’s vision of individuals connecting and growing together.
The artwork was created by Isamu Gakiya, with package design by Yusuke Shibata (soda design).
